SASMIRA has modem laboratories with sophisticated testing and analytical instruments, both for carrying out applied research, investigation and testing of a wide range of textiles materials, dyes, auxiliaries and chemicals. Sasmira laboratories are recognized by International Bureau for Standardisation of Man-made fibre (BISFA), Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), American Association of Textile Chemist and Colourist (AATCC) & others.
The laboratory testing facilities are utilised for the physical and chemical analysis of textile and allied products by various organisation like textile manufacturers, import and export houses. Government agencies, other R&D institutes and Academic institutionsPresently it is gearing up to meet new challenges in the next millenium by upgrading its testing facilities by adding a range of new facilities particularly for testing of Technical Textiles. A range of other instruments are also available to carry out specific testing of textile and allied materials.
SASMIRA offers comprehensive technical services to solve day-to-day problems in the industry. Technical services include analysis of technical problems on locating defects in manufacturing process and remedial suggestion of manufacture, machinery and raw materials with a view to improve quality and productivity.
SASMIRA also has a Powerloom Service Center at Bhiwandi to advise decentralised powerloom sector. Since powerloom industry produces about 75% of India's production, special measures are being taken by SASMIRA for innovation, modernisation and training to suit to the local requirement.
SASMIRA Laboratories have been granted Accreditation Certificate by NABL, New Delhi (National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration Laboratories) as per ISO/IEC 17025 in the field of Mechanical and Chemical Testing of Textiles since 2004.
