Anti Ragging / Disciplinary Committee
SIMSR has formed an Anti-Ragging committee according to the mandatory requirements by the Mumbai University. Its main agenda is to prevent any sort of ragging i.e. either mental or physical that can be forced upon the students. The college management tries to ensure that the students are not ragged either within the college neither outside it. SIMSR follows a tradition that all the students i.e. the seniors and the fresher’s should behave like one big happy family and the question of ragging does not arise at all. A Senior Professor is in-charge of the cell and supported by number of faculty members from all the departments catering to all the students of all courses. The cell basically works on the following model for the student disciplinary functions. The faculty members attached to the cell work very hard in identifying the students who are off the track and work continuously to place them to a better state with full coordination from their parents/local guardians. This is a continuous untiring, unnoticed and unpublished appreciable effort from the faculty and all concerned Corporate Interface / Guest Lecture Committee Good "Corporate Interface" is crucial for any Management Institute. At SIMSR, it is an important parameter for brand building and success of its students getting to be industry-ready professionals at their jobs after completing the Degree/ Programme. They thus can contribute to the company's products, operations, and growth from day one after joining. It is perhaps the most critical differentiator and bears on the Institute's intellectual capital. The corporate branding of the Institute facilitates campus visits by recruiters who desire good students at entry level, and then groom and nurture them to be professional and effective managers in the organisations. SIMSR’s corporate interface includes a range of planned activities with and within Industry -- from guest lectures by senior professionals, case study discussions and development, seminars, and workshops on the one hand, and a 2-month summer internship at an organisation, live field projects, industry visits in India and abroad, and other such training. This helps in bringing them closer to real life situations and management challenges therein, which they learn early before they get on with their jobs and progress in their careers Exam Committee The Examination Committee deals with individual requests to deviate from the official Course & Examination Regulations such as requests for exemptions or following courses in a different order as stipulated. Students can also turn to the Examination Committee in case of delay due to personal, medical, or family circumstances. Students can lodge an appeal with the Examination Appeals Board against the decisions taken by examinators and the decisions taken by the Examination Committee as explained in the above-mentioned cases. Cultural & Event Committee 1. Shall be responsible to organize different Cultural programs in the college. 2. Shall ensure smooth functioning of all Music and Fine-art Clubs. 3. Shall remain in charge of all Pujas, display of Art inside the college. National / International Industrial Visit Committee The objective of this committee Coordinating and helping in arranging- Industrial visits & conducting of study tours. Students Welfare Committee The welfare of its students is of paramount importance to SIMSR. As such, a Student Welfare Committee exists at each Campus to have the crucial responsibility of ensuring that the physical and mental well-being of all students is given proper attention. The Committee is available to assist students with any problems they may be experiencing, be they physical, mental, social, financial or otherwise. The importance of this Committee in protecting students and facilitating their academic and personal success cannot be overemphasized. A student representative and Student Welfare Officer will be included in this Committee, alongside the Director of the college, and the relevant Campus Head. Publication & Journal Committee A Publications Committee will be established for the purpose of enabling the timely publication of Primary and Secondary Papers from the Sasmira’s Business Review (SBR) whilst ensuring the maintenance of ethical standards, the primacy of patient privacy and fair distribution of authorship for academic contributors. Each Publications Committee will be chaired by a member of the Publication & Journal Committee. As the ultimate mission of the SBR is to expand knowledge relating to neurointerventional procedures for stroke through retrospective and prospective publications, the Publications Committee will generally be responsible for SBR data use and ownership. Any use of SBR data, including all publications generated through the SBR, must be reviewed and approved initially by the Publications Committee and ultimately by the Executive Committee prior to submission for public dissemination. Proposals for abstracts and manuscripts must be reviewed before analysis and writing commence. In addition, because of the inherent connection between future research directions and future publications, the Publications Committee will review proposals for ancillary studies and additional funding, and provide recommendations to the Executive Committee. Finally, the Publications Committee will be responsible for investigation and adjudication of conflicts regarding data ownership, authorship, and intellectual property Entrepreneurial Cell Our constant endeavour is to create an entrepreneurial mindset among our students.
